I want to return to Arastradero Preserve on August 6 at 8:45 am (1 hour earlier than the group was previously meeting).  We will meet in the main parking lot on Arastradero Road,.  The earlier time will reduce our exposure to UV sunlight and higher temperatures.  The route I am planning will take advantage of a good bit of shade: Arastradero Creek Trail to Acorn, connecting  to Bay Laurel to Woodland Star (all with at least some shade).  We will return via the deAnza (which is almost entirely unshaded, but by late morning almost everything will be unshaded anyway).   The hike is about 3.2 miles.  

Please remember to bring your name tag, water, and good shoes for the trail.      

The hikers will meet on the first Tuesday of the month.  Please arrive 5-10 minutes early.  The hikes will take 1.5 to 2 hours to complete (3-4 miles), with hills to climb and paths that are uneven and unpaved.  It will be moderately fast paced with no easy way to leave the group part-way through.

Make sure you bring water with you and have the appropriate equiment (i.e. sturdy shoes, sun protections, walking sticks if needed).
