Our leader this week is Karl Schmidt.  Meet at 9:45 for introductions and the 10AM start. We will continue our exploration of the neighborhood north of downtown and along San Francisquito Creek.  Let’s meet in the park next to Avenidas (Cogswell Plaza: GPS 264 Lytton Ave). We will walk straight down Bryant until it ends at the creek.   Turning right we will follow Palo Alto Avenue, bordering the creek, up to the bike/pedestrian bridge that crosses the creek.  If you are curious about what’s on the other side, we should have time for a quick trip over the bridge and back.  Then we will continue our walk on the Palo Alto side of the creek until we get to Timothy Hopkins Creekside Park where there are benches if you need a short rest.

Taking Tasso Street to Hawthorne Avenue, will lead us to Johnson Park where community gardens are contained therein.  We will cut across the park to Waverly Street and take it until it intersects with Lytton Avenue where we turn right and arrive back at Avenidas.  The Redwood Café and Chef Julien await those who might enjoy some refreshment at the end of our approximately 1.5 mile journey.   It’s projected to be hot but there is lots of shade and we will walk at a leisurely pace.    Wear a hat, bring water and enjoy the company.

Village Walkers, a Village Members only group, take turns leading walks in local neighborhoods or areas of interest. A longer and shorter walk are usually planned for the route to accommodate differing needs. Contact Ralph Cahn via call or text at (650) 245-0280 to be added to the Walkers email list, to receive descriptions and directions for each week's walk.
