Edible Excursions "North Berkeley Food Tour"
Edible Excursions has brought its passion for Bay Area artisan food and wine to North Berkeley. Our group will be introduced to the area's history as the birthplace of California Cuisine spearheaded by Alice Waters' Chez Panisse. The excursion features conversations with the area's chefs and food purveyors, as well as a mouth-watering assortment of tastings.
Food stops may include: Local pastrami on ACME rye with house-made soda at Saul's Delicatessen - Cheeseboard Pizzeria, a Berkeley institution, for their pizza of the day - Wine and cheese tasting at Vintage Berkeley - Coffee tasting at the original Peet’s Coffee - Sandwich of the day at Chez Panisse alumni, Local Butcher Shop - Artisanal organic gelato from LUSH - Crispy potato puffs at Gregoire's.
The North Berkeley tour typically covers 0.5 mile or several blocks, and there are a couple of spots that are up a bit of a sloping hill.
RSVP by 2/20. Call (650) 289-5405 with payment.
