Once again we walk over Bayshore Highway to begin our trek. Sandy Lewis is our leader. His instructions are as follows: The walk this week will visit the Embarcadero Crossing, the other highway 101 bike/pedestrian bridge, and circle the Emily Renzel Ponds in the Palo Alto Baylands.  The terrain is level except for the ramps up to and down from the bridge.  The walk is 2.1 miles on paved bike paths and a slightly irregularly surfaced dirt/gravel path.  There is no shade so a hat is advised.

Meet a little before 10:00 am at the start of the bridge ramp which is on Oregon Avenue just past the intersection with St. Francis Drive and about where Oregon Avenue changes to Sierra Court.  To get to Oregon Avenue take Oregon Expressway towards highway 101.  Turn left at Greer, or right if coming from the opposite direction, and then immediately turn right onto Oregon Avenue which parallels Oregon Expressway.  You can park on Oregon Avenue, St. Francis Drive or Sierra Court.

Village Walkers, a Village Members only group, take turns leading walks in local neighborhoods or areas of interest. A longer and shorter walk are usually planned for the route to accommodate differing needs. Contact Ralph Cahn via call or text at (650) 245-0280 to be added to the Walkers email list, to receive descriptions and directions for each week's walk.
