A trip into the past along a once-familiar road on a repeat walk led by Diane Posnak who explains - I would like to repeat a walk initiated originally by Sandy Lewis last January (the first walk of 2022) - Old Page Mill Road leading from the corner of new Page Mill Road and Foothill Expressway, a quiet, peaceful walk in nature, once getting away from new Page Mill.  It passes Frenchman’s Tower built by Peter Coutts in 1875.

We meet in the parking lot behind the Gibson Dunn building at the intersection of new Page Mill and Foothill Expressway. The entrance to the lot is the first driveway on Page Mill heading toward the bay from Foothill, immediately past the intersection, turn in at the large sign saying “1801-1899 Page Mill. Once in the lot, immediately turn right and drive back toward Foothill and around to the back of the building where there is plenty of parking.

From the lot, we cross by foot at the timed countdown traffic lights at Page Mill and Foothill, the most difficult part of the walk. After a short walk along a bike path, we arrive at the start of Old Page Mill Road (paved, essentially flat terrain) about 1 mile out and 1 mile back.  We walk on the road which is a popular bike route and is used by an occasional car to access the few homes there.

Weather expected to be perfect for walking - partly sunny  at 10am and highs in mid to high 70s. Bring water and hat if you prefer.

Village Walkers, a Village Members only group, take turns leading walks in local neighborhoods or areas of interest. A longer and shorter walk are usually planned for the route to accommodate differing needs. Contact Ralph Cahn via call or text at (650) 245-0280 to be added to the Walkers email list, to receive descriptions and directions for each week's walk.
